The UW Burn Center celebrated at the 2026 American Burn Association Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. There were numerous presentations by staff and faculty as well as many awards. Congratulations team!
Gretchen Carrougher (NWRBMS research consultant) worked alongside other US clinicians at the Kiruddu National Referral Hospital the first week of March 2026. Gretchen traveled to Kampala, Uganda as a burn nurse educator, working with others on a surgical mission sponsored by ReSurge International.
In early February 2026, Medical Director, Dr. Tam Pham traveled to Nepal to participate in a surgical mission at the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center, Kirtipur Hospital. Thank you Dr. Pham for continued support of global burn care.
Maiya Pacleb, BS – NWRBMS research assistant and 2nd year UW medical student, presented BMS research findings at the 2026 Western Medical Research Conference in Carmel, CA. Her research focused on measuring the financial hardship after a burn injury.
