New in the Outpatient Clinic

Shaun in the Outpatient Clinic

Have you visited the outpatient clinic recently? If not, we now have messages of hope and recovery from burn survivors. Shaun who was injured several years ago shares his message of recovery.

Image Description:  a collage of photos of Shaun, accompanied by the text:  What helped me the most when I was in the hospital:  MINDSET!  I started every day listening to two things.  I would listen to JOCKO Good, and Joe Rogan, Be the hero of your own story on you tube.  Listening to those two things would help me get in the mindset I needed for wound care and PT.  I was also fortunate to have family supporting and helping me with tasks through the day.  The awesome nursing staff was a big part of my success.  Biggest Challenge I overcame: I am a knife maker and use fire to forge and heat treat my knives.  It ook time and patience, but I now can be around fire with minimal discomfort.  I still have off days, when I do, I simply pick a job that doesn’t require fire.  I am a survivor.
