It is spring in the northwest – time to organize, unclutter and mitigate fire risks in your garage which are a leading place for fires to start.

• Tidy up your garage (organize and eliminate any tripping hazards)
• If you must store flammable materials in the garage, do so in small amounts (if at all)
• Clean up any spills in the garage immediately (like oil or gasoline drips from cars)
• Make sure the smoke and carbon monoxide monitors in your garage are in good working order
